 Picture perfect lighting

Fine Art LightingThe Royal Academy of Arts in London is using RayLights from the Light Projects Group. The RayLight range has recently been expanded to include new light sources and current accessories include UV and IR filters, louvres, coloured or dichroic glass, frosted glass, various light-reducing scrims, beam elongators and smoothers. The fittings are easy to focus and maintain and contain an optional integral dimmer making then ideal for museums, galleries and retail installations.

RayLights have recently been installed by the Royal Academy of Arts in London to replace the existing lighting system throughout its prestigious Main Galleries. Four lighting companies were invited to pitch for the Heritage Lottery Funded project and the Academy decided to develop a new generation of light fittings with the Light Projects Group.

Light Projects used the Par 36 / AR111 12 volt lamps and the American Par 38 120 volt lamps for this prestige contract and commissioned a special electronic transformer to change voltage from 240 to 120-volts.

A new versions of the RayLight, the RayLight CDMR has recently been launched to incorporate the the new Philips CDM-R 111 lamp. It is believed that this is the first surfaced or track mounted fixture available in the UK which can take this lamp. In addition, the new fitting can also take MR16 and SDMR Par 30 lamps.

The RayLight is an innovative new fitting designed by Light Projects. Current accessories include UV and IR filters, louvres, coloured or dichroic glass, frosted glass, various light-reducing scrims, beam elongators and smoothers, making it perfect for museums, galleries and retail installations.
